Version Number What?
Today at work I was thinking about the effort I have been making lately to change the direction of my life, and my attitude and all, and I began to wonder; if I was software, what version would I be? Here's what I came up with.
- Version .9 / ages 0-2 / Just a baby, not able to express myself well
- Version 1.0 / ages 2-8 / Happy, having fun, loving life, liking school
- Version 2.0 / ages 9-14 / Hated school, picked on, bullied, started hating myself
- Version 2.8 / ages 15-17 / School was OK, was more accepted by peers, awkward
- Version 3.0 / ages 17-18 / Hated college, liked living away from home, doubted self
- Version 4.0 / ages 19-21 / Got my first full-time job, happy wage earner
- Version 5.0 / ages 21-32 / Dad died, my faith is shaken and I questioned my purpose
- Version 5.1 / ages 33-? / re-evaluation of life, looking for answers
So here I am at v5.1 trying to make some changes to my life, attempting to reach out to people, "opening up" more emotionally to friends and family; being naked and vulnerable.
