Bass Player

So I have been teaching a friend of mine, Lynsie, how to play bass. I wasn't sure how interested she would be in it, but I thought she had some talent. I was wrong, Lynsie's a natural! She tunes by ear, and has memorized 7-8 songs in two lessons. She could have learned more if I had not have to re-learn some of the songs. I didn't start with wimpy stuff either; the first song Lynsie played was "Born Under a Bad Sign" by Cream. I am impressed and excited! Get ready world, a new, kick-ass trio is soon to be born.

M35A2C

I took my big (2.5 ton) truck to the ranch Saturday to move a satellite dish, and let me tell you, I feel sorry for anyone who had to drive one of these monsters long distances. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but I had to constantly fight the steering wheel to keep it on the road, and the noise and vibration can numb you after a while. It was the longest trip I have taken in it since I drove it back from Iraan. Ok, the awesome part is that once on the ranch, I can drive it anywhere. I don't dodge mesquites, I just run over them - practically any size - at full speed if I wanted to. Climbing hills isn't a problem, just put it in 6 wheel drive low, and it will "crawl" up anything. I can't wait to go back and tear stuff up with it!

I saw this post on another blog and thought it was alarmingly appropriate. I post this in honor of the current administration. Long live ATHF!

The House

I'm not feeling as "happy go lucky" about the house anymore. I spent most of the day out there today, and it was very depressing. Everything is a big mess; My brother and I are about ready to just bulldoze the house so we don't have to look at it anymore.
